Alpha Objective
First Objective: Implementing Our Proof of Concept in Unreal Engine
POC Overview:
For the initial presentation of NPC Forge, we developed a Proof of Concept (POC) using Minecraft to showcase our ability to integrate large language models (LLMs) into a video game environment. The POC featured three AI-driven characters and one player, each assigned specific roles in a murder mystery scenario.

As shown in the images above, the scene includes a dead individual (David), a police officer (Pascal), an ordinary citizen (Henry), a player (Grainbox), and the murderer (Robert). The police officer's task is to conduct an investigation to uncover who killed David. The video demonstration of this scenario can be viewed by clicking here.
Demo Summary:
The demonstration highlights the AI’s capability to interact, make decisions, and respond dynamically based on the unfolding events. Each AI character follows their narrative, contributing to a coherent and engaging investigation experience.

What's next?
Our next goal is to recreate this Proof of Concept in Unreal Engine for the Alpha phase of NPC Forge, incorporating our custom AI systems to enhance realism and interactivity. This new implementation will allow us to leverage Unreal Engine's powerful environment and visual capabilities, pushing the boundaries of AI-driven NPCs in gaming.
